Being an attorney comes with a good amount of stress. For some of us, we’re feeling its impact seasonally; for others, we’re feeling its relentless, 24/7 impact on our body and mind. What we don’t realize, however, is that the long-term, accumulated impact of stress is costing us our health, our productivity, and our personal happiness. Ready for the good news? The ABA understands this up-hill battle and has a plan.
In September 2018, the American Bar Association initiated an industry-wide Well-Being Campaign, focusing on mental health and wellness in Law. Since its implementation, the ABA is encouraging law firms of all sizes to sign the Pledge and support this change. Although the Pledge takes a top-down approach, we will initiate a grassroots effort to embrace the Pledge. The webinar will help lawyers take responsibility for their well-being, starting with themselves.
Our presenter, Lauren Baptiste, CEO of Acheloa Wellness, will shed light on the importance of wellness in the workplace as it relates to ourselves, our legal teams, and our firms as a whole. In order to perform in our profession at our personal best, it’s important to identify areas of improvement and simple next steps to incite immediate change. This presentation will provide best practices, thoughtful exercises, and tangible steps that we can all take to inspire a favorable career in Law. After reviewing each of the topics, we will leave time at the end of the hour for questions and closing thoughts.
