Jim is an Assistant General Counsel in the Office of General Counsel at the State Bar of Georgia.  In addition to providing ethics advice to members of the State Bar of Georgia, Jim prosecutes disciplinary cases with a focus on complex trust accounting violations.  Prior to joining the Office of General Counsel, Jim was in private practice where he handled criminal and family law matters, personal injury cases, real estate disputes and other general litigation matters. 

Jim received his J.D. from the University of South Carolina School of Law and his B.A. from the University of South Carolina Honors College. 

Jim was admitted to the State Bar of Georgia in 1994.  He is admitted to practice before the Court of Appeals of Georgia, the Supreme Court of Georgia, the United States Courts of Appeals for the Sixth and Eleventh Circuits, and the United States District Courts for the Northern and Middle Districts of Georgia.   

Jim is also a member of the Lawyers Club of Atlanta, the Atlanta Bar Association, and the National Association of Bar Counsel.
