The legal profession, like other industries and professions, has not been able to eradicate sexual harassment and more can be done. This program will discuss a recent study of the issue in the legal profession, the effect on individuals and the profession, and propose some additional tools with which to tackle it, including “active ally actions” and the Rules of Professional Conduct.
In this program, two video vignettes will set up ethical issues that will be discussed the faculty panel. Topics will include the use of indemnification provisions in fee agreements, law firms as clients of professional employer organizations, the no-contact rule and pushing ethical boundaries, lawyer mobility in general, switching sides, inadvertent misdelivery, and limited scope representation. This program is offered in partnership with the State Bar of Georgia. Accreditation for this program has only been sought in the state of Georgia.
This program will address ethical, malpractice, and risk management issues that can arise when lawyers enter into various business relationships with other lawyers. Topics presented will include co-counsel and of counsel relationships, the use of contract attorneys, office sharing concerns, and things to think about when buying a law practice.

“The Firm Retreat” is a 3-hour Ethics CLE consisting of three 15-minute videos taking us behind the scenes as a law firm holds its annual staff retreat. A panel of your peers will apply the Rules of Professional Conduct to their analysis of the issues presented. During the panel discussions, attendees will be encouraged to ask questions and share comments.
